What to Wear to the Airport for Comfort & Convenience

I’ve been trying to make a real effort not to look like I just rolled out of bed when I go to the airport, while still dressing comfortably for long-haul flights. My favorite outfit to wear is comfy a matching set that still makes you look put together, or if it’s a shorter flight, I’ll wear a long flowy dress so I’m ready to start exploring when I reach my destination.

What I do NOT recommend is wearing things like jumpsuits or rompers. While they’re cute, comfortable, and easy to throw on, you do not want to be taking all of your clothes off in an airplane bathroom. Not worth it!

Tips for Packing Your Airport Essentials Efficiently

I always use packing cubes and makeup organizers to be as efficient with my space as possible. It seems like every time I go through TSA, the requirements are a bit different — so I like to prepare in advance by pulling out my liquids and keeping them in a TSA-approved clear bag whenever I’m traveling.

My last tip is to pack as light as possible. I know it’s tempting to pack 5 pairs of shoes and 10 different cute outfits for your trip, but I think it’s better to rewear clothes and do laundry rather than lugging around way more than you realistically need. It simplifies the travel process, and once you experience what it’s like to travel lighter, I don’t think you’ll miss the extra stuff.

Traveling can be chaotic, but with a little preparation, you can focus more on the adventure ahead and less on the lines, delays, and what-ifs.
